Job summary

West Bloomfield School District is seeking a caring Before and Aftercare Assistant Instructor for preschool programs. The role supports the lead instructor, supervises children ages 3–5, and helps implement engaging activities before and after school.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain), and strong communication with families. The position runs Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons, starting August 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool children (ages 3–5 preferred).
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Ability to manage groups of young children with patience and structure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with families and staff.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Supervise preschool-aged children during before and after school care hours.
• Collaborate with lead instructor to provide consistent care and support for all students.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities fostering social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Create a welcoming and supportive environment for children and families.
• Coordinate with preschool staff to maintain a structured daily routine.
• Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment.
