Job summary

Oakland Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to create a safe, engaging learning environment for young children within the Community Education program. You will help plan activities, maintain the classroom, and support the instructor in alignment with school philosophy.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; CDA or Associate’s degree preferred. CPR and first-aid training are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Ability to plan activities for young children.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and well-being of the children.
• Maintain and arrange learning environments in the classroom.
• Assist instructor in program implementation per school policies.
• Assist with organizational duties in the classroom.
• Lead the classroom when the teacher is absent or a substitute is present.
• Plan and assist in field trips.
• Attend PLCs and related professional development opportunities sponsored by WBPA.
