ReNEW Schools is seeking a Preschool Associate Teacher in Merrillville, Indiana. The role supports developmentally appropriate education for a classroom of children, working with a teaching team and families to implement curriculum aligned with local standards.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood/Development and the ability to positively engage children with special needs while applying stress management and conflict resolution techniques.

• Plan, organize, coordinate and implement a comprehensive education program at the site level that is developmentally appropriate and meets the individual needs of the children.
• Responsible for the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team.
• Plan and implement the curriculum in accordance with Merrillville Community School Corporation and Indiana Department of Education standards.
• Active participation with the children, families, and other members of the teaching team.
• Assess and address the needs of individual children.
• Present a positive and professional image.
• Effectively participate on committees and work teams as requested.
