Join the Stratford Y and make a meaningful impact as a Preschool Assistant Teacher! We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individual to support our mission of fostering healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. In this role, you will provide direct supervision to children ages 3-5 in a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment. Your responsibilities will include planning and leading activities that promote social, physical, emotional, and cognitive growth, ensuring the well-being of each child, and collaborating with staff and parents to create positive learning experiences.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a licensed OEC/School Readiness program
  • Documentation of a physical exam and TB Tine Test within the last two years
  • Completion of a background check and fingerprinting within 30 days of hire
  • Strong communication, organizational, and observational skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • CPR/First Aid certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Must complete required YMCA and state-mandated trainings
