Qualifications

• Compliance with EEC regulations for preschool assistant teachers, minimum age 18.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Preschool Head Teacher and Preschool Teacher with learning activities, including one-on-one or small groups.
• Support classroom routines, schedule, and rules for individual or group needs.
• Provide nurturing care to all enrolled children.
• Follow EEC regulations and participate in program quality improvements.
• Help ensure safety during outdoor play, field trips, and transitions.
• Assist with lunch and snack preparation and maintain classroom cleanliness.
• Display children’s work and maintain classroom displays.
• Communicate daily experiences and concerns to teachers and director, maintaining confidentiality.
• Participate in professional days and meetings when possible.
• May fulfill Preschool Teacher duties and may work extended hours occasionally.
• Maintain high standards of professional conduct and attendance.
• Support the Department’s Race and Equity Initiative.
