Job summary

Lake Area Discovery Center in White Bear Lake is hiring Preschool Assistant Teachers for both full-time and part-time positions, collaborating with Lead Teachers to create a warm, engaging classroom.

You will support daily activities, supervise children, prepare learning materials, assist with routines, and communicate positively with families in a licensed, nurturing setting that values teamwork and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in childcare, preschool, nannying, camps, or related settings.
• Early Childhood coursework, CDA or related education preferred.
• Willingness to obtain Minnesota DHS Assistant Teacher qualifications if not already met.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing engaging daily learning activities.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
• Build caring relationships with children and families.
• Supervise children while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
• Assist with meals, outdoor play, transitions, toileting, and classroom routines.
• Prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and licensing standards.
• Collaborate with Lead Teachers and the teaching team.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
