Job description

Summary

We are looking for a preschool assistant teacher for two different rooms who wants to be part of a new childcare start up! Our safari room needs a preschool assistant teacher for our 2-3 year olds (Early Preschool). Our Woodlands room 3-5 years needs a preschool assistant teacher as well! Can you help us build this childcare center from the ground up, starting mid-July/August of 2025?

Both of our preschools are play-based and include a large amount of gross motor equipment - we know kids need to burn off that energy! Our preschool assistant teachers work 4, 10 hour shifts from 6:45 AM - 4:45 AM. We spend a lot of time outside as well! Looking for candidates who love children, are children at heart, and love to play!


Candidates with a CDA are paid $15 hourly. All employees are able to do our in-house training to earn $.75 an hour more! Candidates without a CDA are still encouraged to apply!


Duties
  • Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
  • Sanitize toys and play equipment.
  • Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.
  • Observe and monitor children's play activities.
  • Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
  • Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
  • Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.

Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Before employment begins:

  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Complete 3 hours of free online training

Physical Requirements:

  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
