Job Description

Trinity College Community Child Center is seeking a qualified, full-time Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team of Early Childhood Educators. Our Teacher Assistants work alongside two full-time Teacher Assistants and a Lead Teacher in a classroom with 18 children, providing a curriculum that nurtures and stimulates child development. We are located on the Trinity College campus, serving children from the Trinity community, Hartford, and nearby towns.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience working with children aged 3-5 in a childcare center
• A current CDA/12 credits in Early Childhood Education OR an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education

Responsibilities

• Work schedule: 8-hour shifts with paid 45-minute lunch, Monday to Friday
• Serve as a mandated reporter
• Fulfill all mandates per Connecticut Office of Early Childhood and Hartford Department of Children, Families Youth and Recreation
• Conduct daily safety checks in classroom and playground, address issues, notify administration
• Follow best practices from NAEYC and adhere to its Code of Ethical Conduct

Requirements

• Experience with children aged 3-5 in a childcare setting
• Current CDA/12 credits or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education

Additional Information

• Must provide recent physical exam and negative TB test results (less than 1 year old, updated every two years)
