Job summary

The Learning Experience in Fairfax, VA is hiring an Assistant Center Director to help oversee daily operations with joyful leadership in early childhood education. You will partner with the Center Director to guide staff, ensure licensing compliance, and foster a collaborative environment for children and families.

You will drive growth, manage records and vendor relations, and lead ongoing staff development programs to support excellence in our classrooms.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of center leadership/management experience.
• Knowledge of Virginia state licensing rules and guidelines.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example with passion for improving outcomes for children and staff.
• Ensure center health and safety standards comply with local/state regulations.
• Maintain accurate student and family records according to procedures.
• Manage center inventory and vendor relationships for smooth operations.
• Drive enrollment growth and family engagement through tours and events.

• Coordinate staff development and leadership pathways.

As the Assistant Center Director at The Learning Experience, You Will

• Lead by example, displaying passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children and employees. Create an environment of trust, rapport, and inclusivity, easily connecting with diverse groups of people.


• Ensure that the physical center environment adheres to health and safety standard operating procedures, maintaining full compliance with local and state licensing regulations.


• Maintains physical and electronic filing systems for student and family records with accuracy and in compliance with TLE operating procedures following local and state regulations


• Manages center inventory: office supplies, food, curriculum, staff recognition items, etc.


• Manages vendor relationships including facility maintenance and technology support


• Drive consistent business results, measured through family retention and conversion, enrollment growth, and efficient business operations.


• Manage accounts receivable and payable.


• Engage prospective families through both in-person and virtual center tours, effectively showcasing the benefits of our program. Organize and execute community marketing events to raise awareness and drive enrollment.

Requirements

• Have two or more years of center leadership/management experience (highly preferred) or at least one year of center leadership/management experience (required).


• Meet Virginia's Program Director requirements, as well as any other state-specific guidelines for the role.


• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field (highly preferred).


• Demonstrate strong knowledge of state licensing rules and regulations.
