Position Overview

Levato's Little Ones is a Paths-to-Quality rated Preschool/Daycare. Preschool Assistants engage and instruct preschool-aged children (3 months to 5 years) to explore, learn, and play, fostering self-confidence and a strong foundation for school.

We seek energetic, creative, and enthusiastic individuals interested in working with preschool children. Experience in childcare, early childhood education, or elementary education is encouraged. This role offers valuable experience for those pursuing a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate.

Position Details

This is a full-time position, paying between $12.00/hr and $16.00/hr, based on experience. The annual salary ranges from $24,000 to $33,280.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Daycare Director and Team Leads in developing and supervising children aged 3 months to 5 years.
  • Maintain a positive, healthy, and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.
  • Design and prepare creative materials and classroom activities to promote growth, considering individual needs and interests.
  • Engage children in learning activities and creative play, including games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, reading, and field trips.
  • Attend to children's basic needs, such as dressing, feeding, bathing, diapering, and bathroom activities.
  • Interact with children in a safe and compassionate manner.
  • Teach basic skills like color, shape, number, and letter recognition, as well as personal hygiene and social skills.
  • Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and health.
  • Identify signs of emotional, developmental, or health issues and discuss concerns with supervisors or specialists.
  • Communicate daily accomplishments, interests, and challenges to parents.
  • Prepare reports on students and activities as required.
  • Complete necessary training for certification requirements.
Requirements
  • Ability to perform job duties effectively.
  • Passion for working with children and ability to build rapport with preschoolers.
  • Positive, energetic, patient, and caring attitude.
  • Experience or interest in childcare or early childhood education.
  • Interest in pursuing a CDA is a plus but not required.
  • Physical ability to engage in activities, including lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Reliability, dependability, and trustworthiness.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with data entry, computers, tablets, or cell phones.
  • Familiarity with educational software, age-appropriate games, and toys.
