Job summary

Gloria Dei Early Learning Center in East San Jose is seeking a Preschool Aide Sub to support classroom staff and help create a warm, safe environment for young children ages 2.9 to 5 years. The role requires a High School Diploma, ability to pass a background check, and the capacity to lead groups of children.

Candidates who speak English or are bilingual are encouraged to apply. You will assist with prep, cleaning, snack time, and bathroom routines, and you will take direction from the Director

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 6 ECE units or working towards ECE a plus but not required.
• At least one year of professional experience in the childcare/teaching field is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to pass background check and lead groups of children.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean, and appealing which permits the child to grow and explore (including disinfecting toys, cleaning up after meals and snacks, and ongoing bathroom checks and pull up changes, organizing, etc.).
• Uses appropriate and positive discipline.
• Works cooperatively with others by exchanging ideas, attending staff meetings and attending other school events throughout the school year.
• Prepares materials needed in the classroom, including snacks, cleans, disinfects outside play area as well as inside the classroom, clean tables, sweep/mop floors, assist children in the bathroom, including potty training and changes.
• Take direction from Director or Lead Teacher.
