The Y of Central Maryland is seeking a Classroom Aide to assist teachers in creating a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for young children. You will support daily routines, activities, and supervision throughout the day.

You will work with a passionate team, greet families, and help maintain learning centers while following safety policies and OCC regulations. This role offers opportunities for growth within a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher with classroom activities and daily routines.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and transitions.
• Encourage positive behavior and help children develop social and learning skills.
• Assist with setting up learning materials, toys, and classroom centers.
• Help clean and sanitize toys, tables, chairs, and common classroom areas.
• Greet children and families in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Communicate with teachers, families, and staff as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and special events.
• Complete basic classroom documentation and reports as assigned.
• Follow all Y policies, safety procedures, and OCC regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
