Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Preschool Aide to support the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for young children.

You will assist with activities, supervise students, and help with daily routines to foster growth. You will collaborate with staff, help with arrival/dismissal, snack time, and classroom setup, while following safety policies and reporting concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with young children is preferred.
• Ability to pass background checks and complete child safety training (e.g., VIRTUS).
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with daily lesson plans and activities.
• Support small groups and individual learning as directed by the teacher.
• Help prepare learning materials and classroom centers.
• Help manage behavior using positive guidance and supervision.
• Assist with arrival and dismissal procedures and daily routines.
• Support with snacks/meals and classroom cleanup.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
• Communicate respectfully with children, families, and staff.
