Job summary

Fullerton Free Preschool is seeking a part-time Preschool Aide to support our teaching team in a faith-based setting. You will help create a safe, engaging classroom where children can learn and grow under Christian principles.

Responsibilities include assisting with routines, supervising play, helping with toileting, preparing materials, and communicating professionally with families. The role requires 6 ECE units, CA Title 22 compliance, and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed 6 ECE units.
• Must meet California Title 22 licensing requirements for employment in a licensed preschool.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Passion for working with young children in a Christian environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment at all times.
• Assist the teacher in implementing daily classroom routines and activities.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play while maintaining active supervision.
• Assist children with toileting and diapering needs (when applicable).
• Help prepare classroom materials and learning activities.
• Follow licensing regulations and school policies; maintain confidentiality.
• Communicate professionally with parents and staff; support Biblical integration.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.

Works: Part-time (maximum 29 hours/week)

Pay Range: $18 – $19/hour

• Must meet California Title 22 licensing requirements for employment in a licensed preschool.

Reports to: Preschool Director & Assistant Director

Works closely with: Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Preschool Support Staff

Primary Responsibilities

Classroom Support (80%)

• Help maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment at all times.
• Assist the teacher in implementing daily classroom routines and activities.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play while maintaining active supervision.
• Assist children with toileting and diapering needs (when applicable).
• Help prepare classroom materials and learning activities.
• Clean and sanitize toys, tables, and classroom materials according to health and licensing standards.
• Follow all California Title 22 licensing regulations and school policies.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and fellow staff members.
• Step into different classrooms as needed to provide support throughout the school.
• Model Christ-like character through words, attitudes, and actions.
• Participate in daily staff prayer and spiritual encouragement.
• Build positive, caring relationships with children and families.
• Support teachers in incorporating Biblical principles into classroom activities.
• Help create an environment where children experience God’s love through daily interactions.

Administrative & Team Responsibilities (10%)

• Help monitor classroom supplies and communicate needs to the lead teacher.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as required.
• Complete assigned duties in a timely and dependable manner.
• Be flexible in assisting wherever support is needed throughout the preschool.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift children and classroom materials.
• Lift up to 40 pounds.
• Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Participate in active play with young children throughout the day.
