Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an AMER Presales Electrical Engineer to shape modular data center solutions and scalable infrastructure for AI-driven technologies. You will lead electrical system concept design, CAD modeling, and cross-disciplinary coordination with architects, structural, HVAC, and controls teams.

You will read RFPs, translate customer needs, and propose best-in-class modular/hybrid data center configurations while aligning with sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in electrical power system design.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical design.
• CAD capabilities for layouts, schematics, and subsystems.
• Knowledge of short-circuit and protection coordination is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand RFPs and tender documents.
• Interpret customer requirements from Solution Architects and Sales.
• Concept design of electrical system architecture and equipment.
• Adhere to electrical codes and standards for installations.
• Create CAD models and electrical layouts.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, HVAC, controls, and fire protection teams.
• Coordinate technically with customers and suppliers on projects.
• Propose best modular/hybrid data center solutions.
• Interpret customer requirements to tailor our solutions.

Note: This is a Electrical Design Engineer role, tagged to Sales team and not a sales role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents
• Reading and understanding customer requirements provided by Solution Architects and Sales team
• Concept design of electrical system architecture and equipment
• Understanding of relevant codes and standards for electrical power equipment and installations
• CAD Modeling
• Coordination with other technical disciplines (architectural, structural, HVAC, controls, fire protection)
• Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers
• Communication with customers in order to propose the best solution
• Making technical proposals for Vertiv modular/hybrid solutions data centers
• Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions
• Support SA and sales team

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proficient in Electrical power system design
• 3+ years of experience
• Good CAD capabilities including the ability to represent layouts and electrical schematic diagrams, as well as specifics of custom electrical sub-systems associated with Uninterruptable Power Supplies, DC systems, LV and MV power distribution systems, diesel gensets
• Dimensioning and specification of electrical equipment and installations
• Knowledge of short circuit and protection coordination study calculations and modeling tools
• Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components in end-customer deployment
• Solid communication skills, both written and oral, to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architecture and concepts to deployment
• PC skills: active user of Windows, MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), AutoCAD
