Job summary

Mittera is seeking a detail-driven Prepress Technician to ensure every project is press-ready and color-perfect from screen to print. You will prepare client files for press layouts, create layouts on designated presses with Kodak Preps, and image plates as scheduled.

You’ll edit files using Adobe Acrobat and InDesign to meet client and internal requests. The role requires ability to interpret diverse instructions, maintain meticulous schedules, and communicate clearly with multiple departments

Qualifications

• Experience in Prepress or Graphic Arts preferred but not required.
• Effective communications skills with other departments such as Customer Service and Pressroom.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Image plates according to job specifications.
• Read and understand a job ticket as it applies to Prepress and Print Production.
• Create/build layouts for jobs running on specific presses.
• Prioritize what needs to be done based on the schedule on a daily basis.
• Edit customer files as requested/needed.
• Create PDFs for customer approval.
• Output proofs using large format ink jet proofers.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to keep machines running.
• Provide written communication regarding job issues to the department.
