Job summary

RRD is seeking a seasoned supervisor to plan, lead, and coordinate Digital Press Production and Prepress on a 24/7 schedule at our Wisconsin facility.

You will mentor staff, drive safety and quality, manage staffing across shifts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and customer commitments. A strong background in large format and digital print is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years in a printing environment with exposure to large format, digital print, and prepress.
• Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or lead function.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and coordinate Digital Press Production and Prepress to meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals.
• Eliminate unsafe behaviors; support Safety Training Observation Program and maintain housekeeping.
• Communicate with internal and external customers to ensure production requirements and deliveries.
• Develop training materials to support employee growth.
• Make recommendations on hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers for Digital Press/Prepress staff.
• Lead staffing and shifts to meet quality and production needs; coordinate with other departments.
• Maintain records and documents; promote Total Quality Program and cross-functional team collaboration.
• Manage the Prepress Process and team (not the offset print area).
• Perform other related duties as required.

This Position is on site and manages a workforce that is on a 24/7 schedule. Availability to flex hours to manage the department effectively will be required.

Plan, lead and coordinate all areas of Digital Press Production and Pre Press to exceed internal and external customer expectations in safety, quality, productivity, schedules, housekeeping and employee relations.

Responsibilities:

• Work to eliminate all unsafe behaviors and conditions within the plant. Fully support and practice Safety Training Observation Program techniques on a daily basis. Assure the maintenance of excellent housekeeping practices and safety awareness on all shifts.
• Maintain positive communication within the department on all shifts. Communicate effectively with all internal external customers to insure that all production requirements, schedules, quality, and final deliveries of our products are satisfactory.
• Work with other members of Management to create the appropriate training material to facilitate the continual growth of all employees
• May make recommendations regarding hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and training of Digital Press and Prepress personnel.
• Motivate staff in support of department objectives and timely and effective schedules to ensure production goals.
• May be responsible for determining appropriate manning for each shift along with other supervisors, departments and co-workers. Coordinate manning efforts to effectively meet all quality and production requirements.
• Maintain and monitor the completion of all necessary records and documents as assigned.
• Foster the continual use and implementation of the philosophies and tools that are taught through our Total Quality Program. Promote the concept of working together as a team and with other departments to build continual improvement within the company.
• Manage the Prepress Process and team. (The Pre Press Partners with Digial and Offset Print areas but this supervisor is not assigned to the offset print)
• Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in applicable field is preferred.
• 10 or more years working in a printing environment with exposure to Large format print, digital print, and prepress processes.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory or lead function

Additional Information

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $68,500 - $106,900 / year. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
