Job summary

River Valley Co-op in Northampton, MA is seeking a part-time Prepared Foods Team Member I to maintain sanitation of deli operations and support daily prep work. The role requires open availability including evenings and weekends and reports to the Prepared Foods Kitchen Manager.

You will help with packaging dips and salsas, label products, keep the dish and prep areas clean, and follow health department guidelines while providing friendly service to customers as part of a cooperative team.

Qualifications

• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to stand long hours and work in a wet environment.
• Positive tone when communicating with team and customers.
• Flexible schedule including mornings/evenings.

Responsibilities

• Washing and putting away dishes throughout the shift.
• Keep the dish room clean and in working order, polish machines and empty traps.
• Maintain chemical levels for the dish machine and notify managers when needed.
• Prepare food offerings following the Manager's specifications.
• Label and date all dishes with ingredients.
• Take out trash/recycling/food waste as directed.
• Maintain kitchen in orderly condition.
• Clean spills, sweep, mop, and polish the work area.
• Follow all food safety procedures.
• Inform managers of equipment repairs or upgrades.
• Read and initial daily deli logs.
