Job Description for Dishwasher at Whole Foods Market

Perform all duties related to dishwashing and maintaining the general cleanliness of the kitchen area. All Whole Foods Market Retail jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. All positions must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Team Members must be prepared to perform duties inherent in other Team Member roles as needed. Positions support WFM core values, promote programs and initiatives, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including Food Safety.

Job Responsibilities

1. Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares.
2. Maintain cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen.
3. Assist with kitchen deliveries, proper storage, organization, and rotation of products.
4. Arrive on time, groomed, dressed appropriately, and ready to work; attend scheduled shifts, trainings, and meetings.
5. Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and model suggestive selling techniques.
6. Maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
7. Follow and ensure compliance with established procedures, including health, sanitation, and safety standards.
8. Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment; ensure equipment is kept in accordance with standards.
9. Perform opening, mid, and closing duties; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing; report safety hazards immediately.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experiences

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
• Use hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
• Work in temperatures below 32°F, 32-40°F, and above 90°F.
• Work in wet and dry conditions.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery.
• May require using ladders.
