Job summary

Whole Foods Market in San Francisco is seeking a Team Member to perform all functions related to preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.

Responsibilities include assisting with production in Prepared Foods, proper labeling/rotation, following recipes and safety procedures, maintaining clean work areas, and helping on the sales

Qualifications

• Thorough product knowledge.
• Ability to prepare a number of recipes per shift based on batch size.
• Capable of accessing information about market conditions and communicating it to customers.
• Understand spoilage and waste and how it affects department profits.
• Working knowledge of merchandising expectations within the department.

• Ability to deliver information clearly to Team Members, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues.
• Ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated.
• Ensures product meets WFM guidelines for quality and preparation.
• Documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
• Ensures production uses correct measuring devices; follows all recipes.
• Helps customers distinguish WFM products from conventional stores.
• Keeps walk-ins and freezers clean and well-organized.
• Arrives on time, well-groomed, and ready to work; attends required trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques; answers phones promptly.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows procedures including health, sanitation, weights and measures, and safety standards.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary work and shopping environment; maintains equipment per standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures sign and pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and violations promptly.
