Job summary

Oshkosh Defense is seeking a Prep & Trim Technician to remove and replace components as required for paint at the Oshkosh, WI facility. The role involves sanding, masking, priming, painting, demasking, and prepping vehicles for shipment, with forklift operation as needed.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, manufacturing experience is preferred. Candidates will work on site in a manufacturing environment, handling vehicles and components across multiple stations.

Responsibilities

• Sand entire vehicle or component, painted or unpainted.
• Perform minor body work.
• Wash entire vehicle or component.
• Blowdown, metal prep and condition vehicle or component.
• Mask, paper or grease components to be protected from paint.
• Prime and paint assemblies or components where a fine finish is not required.
• Demask, degrease vehicles or components. Apply stencils, labels, logos, sandpaint, nonskid etc., as required.
• Clean entire vehicle or components of overspray, grease rust- proof, and dirt to ready product for shipment.
• Drive vehicle as required in- to building from station to station and out of building and operate equipment as necessary.
• Move parts carts by hand or with forklift.
• Rustproof vehicle or components (certification required).

• Use of simple arithmetic and some measuring instruments such as caliper, scale, etc.
• Manufacturing experience.
