Job summary

Pfizer is hiring for a manufacturing role in Rocky Mount, NC. You will work on a 12-hour rotating shift, standing long hours and lifting up to 50 lbs, supporting new product introductions and sustaining operations.

Join a team focused on Lean tools, Zero Defects, and continuous improvement while ensuring GMP-compliant work environments and strict safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience executing SOPs, Batch Records, and Manufacturing Controls Systems.
  • Proficiency with continuous centrifugation, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, cell disruption and membrane filtration.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for contributions to team deliverables and represent work groups.
  • Manage personal time, prioritize workflow, and assist colleagues.
  • Complete assignments per SOPs and batch records; identify improvements and troubleshoot.
  • Provide direction and training to team members and share knowledge across groups.

What You Will Achieve
  • Take responsibility for individual contributions to team deliverables, fostering a positive team environment, and representing the work group within department teams.
  • Manage personal time and professional development, prioritize workflow, and assist less-experienced colleagues in prioritizing their tasks.
  • Complete various assignments based on established procedures, identify process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and provide direction and training to team members.
  • Share knowledge within and across multiple work groups.
  • Proactively identify and resolve non-routine problems, making decisions between multiple options in a structured environment.
  • Work under general supervision, independently complete recurring assignments, and refer new or unusual problems to the supervisor.
  • Ensure non-standard work is reviewed for sound technical judgment and adhere to Pfizer standards, guidelines, and values, while training others.
  • Provide input on equipment installation, start-up, operation, and troubleshooting to support new product introductions into sustaining operations.
  • Complete tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures and batch records, using Lean Tools daily to optimize efficiency and drive Continuous Improvement and Zero Defects.
  • Maintain a safety-oriented, GMP-compliant work environment, train colleagues, investigate operational deviations, implement corrective actions, and seek opportunities for Continuous Improvement.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Experience executing operations in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Batch Record, and Manufacturing Controls Systems
  • Proficiency with principles and operations of continuous centrifugation, microfiltration, ultra-filtration, cell disruption, and membrane filtration
  • Familiarity with Lean Tools
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team orientation, attention to detail, documentation skills, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a self-directed shift team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that demands flexibility and initiative
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in a start-up environment
  • Knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes
  • Familiarity and basic understanding of common AI tools and a curiosity for learning how they can be used to enhance productivity
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand for 10 to 12 hours at a time, sit for 5 to 6 hours at a time, and regularly walk long distances, climb stairs/ladders, walk on catwalks
  • Ability to regularly lift, up to 50 lbs without mechanical assistance at least once a shift, and lift >50 lbs with assistance
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work in a controlled temperature environment wearing clean room attire. On occasion, steam, noise, chemical odours, and fumes may be present; personal protective equipment must be worn for safety reasons.
  • Ability to maintain shift work on a 12 hour, 2-2-3 rotating schedule. Day or night shift schedule will be required.
  • Relocation support available

The salary for this position ranges from $23.40 to $39.01 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
