Job Description

The Springs Resort and Spa in Pagosa Springs, CO, is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Prep/Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to specification, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure, and have a passion for quality food.

Responsibilities
Prep Cook Duties
  • Wash, peel, chop, dice, and portion ingredients as directed.
  • Prepare sauces, stocks, and other foundational components of dishes.
  • Label, store, and rotate ingredients following FIFO principles.
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and equipment.
Line Cook Duties
  • Cook and plate dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Work efficiently at designated stations (grill, sauté, fry, pantry, etc.).
  • Keep workstation clean and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen team members.
  • Monitor and adjust food quality and consistency.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality management degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
