Job summary

King County’s Public Health – Seattle & King County seeks a SHIPS Communications Specialist I (TLT/SDA) to develop and implement outreach plans for HIV prevention services. The role collaborates with leadership, researchers, and patient focus groups to ensure messaging aligns with values and goals of the Sexual Health Clinic.

The position is a 12-month term and may be filled as a Special Duty assignment. It requires coordinating social marketing campaigns, creating health information resources,

Qualifications

• Experience with email distribution, content management or digital publishing platforms.
• Knowledge of communication principles, research methods, and techniques.
• Skilled in developing and implementing strategic communications plans with clear direction, concise messaging, and measurable outcomes.
• Skills in synthesizing and communicating technical information for diverse audiences, including multilingual and disability audiences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Sexual Health Clinic awareness and promotion social marketing campaigns and resources.
• Research and create topical health information resources; print and electronic resources, educational and promotional materials.
• Interact with audiences to provide information, listen to concerns and help resolve problems.
• Coordinate with communicators, staff, and community partners to gather content and identify timely communication opportunities.
• Maintain editorial calendars and schedules to ensure timely delivery of communications products.
• Analyze readership and engagement metrics to inform content decisions.
