Position Summary

Responsible for providing support to the heart-of-house in the preparation of hot and cold meals, ensuring quality, consistency, and proper production of all food items. Interacts with fellow employees and supervisors politely and courteously to ensure gracious hospitality.

Essential Functions
  1. Anticipate and accommodate the needs of all team members.
  2. Handle all food items by washing, chopping, and cutting according to recipe specifications.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned station, the kitchen, and the entire venue.
  4. Label and store all products following FIFO and company standards.
  5. Check production lists and assignments.
  6. Follow supervisor’s instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers as a team player.
  7. Possess in-depth knowledge of assigned recipes and produce them to company standards.
  8. Have general knowledge of the venue.
  9. Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  10. Communicate product needs to chefs, sous chefs, and support staff.
  11. Properly set up prep station and perform opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
  12. Stock station with prescribed supplies and sanitize work areas.
  13. Perform opening and closing side-work as prescribed.
  14. Report equipment or furniture damage immediately.
  15. Attend and participate in daily pre-service and departmental meetings.
  16. Learn through observation and sharing knowledge, leading by example.
  17. Maintain a positive, professional attitude and demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality.
  18. Work collaboratively and support fellow team members.
  19. Assist with additional tasks as assigned.
Training & Experience

Previous culinary experience preferred, especially as a prep or line cook in a high-volume setting.

Skills & Physical Demands

Ability to communicate effectively, move quickly, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for long periods. Work environment includes noise, crowds, smoke, and hot kitchen elements. Extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
