Pay

$21‑$25 per hour

Job Summary

As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of high‑quality dishes in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner. You will work closely with our culinary team to ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes and standards, contributing to our guests' overall dining experience.

Basic Job Duties
  • Wash, peel, cut, chop, slice, and prepare cooking elements for meal preparation during a shift.
  • Store items in the refrigerator, cover items left in the open air, and prepare special food elements ahead of time so they can be quickly accessed and used in cooking.
  • May be responsible for preparing a certain portion of a dish.
  • Work with speed and efficiency to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area throughout the shift.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set‑up of station. Break down and clean the station thoroughly every day.
  • Ensure proper rotation of all products to par, label, day‑dot, and sign all products. Obtain Chef/Manager signature on all products.
  • Must be dressed and well‑groomed in company‑approved uniform at all times.
  • Observe all SRC policies and procedures.
  • Must wear approved manufacturer‑certified slip‑resistant or non‑slip shoes at all times while working.
Education / Experience / Skills
  • Previous experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus.
Travel Requirements
  • No regular travel requirements.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of kitchenware, cleaning equipment, food boxes, garbage, etc. weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Standing for the duration of a 6+ hour shift with appropriate breaks.
  • Regular and prolonged standing and walking to prepare food, clean workstations, move garbage, etc.
  • Occasional ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to move food items, equipment, etc.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Frequent use of hand‑to‑finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
  • Constant bending, stooping and turning.
  • Constant exposure to hot and damp temperature fluctuations.
