THE VENUE

Legends Hospitality is proud to Partner with Circle Line Cruises, New York’s oldest provider of chartered sightseeing cruises, in delivering a premium hospitality experience to guests. In addition to daily cruises on six sailing vessels throughout the city, Circle Line hosts various special events cruises including a New Year’s Eve and Fourth of July celebration in addition to charters for private parties and events.

THE ROLE

This position is responsible for preparing and cooking food items in a fast-casual space to exceed guest expectations. The Prep Cook role entails filling large group sale sandwich orders, preparing concessions stand grab & go items, and assisting in food preparation for large scale events.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must maintain a friendly, positive attitude and a professional demeanor at all times
  • Timely execution of station requirements of all directives by Culinary Supervisor
  • Willingness to learn; Able to follow recipes and cook them to desired specifications
  • Knowledgeable of basic knife skill and production techniques
  • Maintains and abides by County Health/ Sanitation as well as Legends Hospitality standards
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure that only the highest-of-quality product is served to our guests
  • Provides efficient service and quality products by following direction of culinary management
  • Ensures that all equipment is in proper operational condition and is cleaned on a regular basis
  • Shows flexibility by rotating to other service locations when necessary
  • Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one (1) year cooking experience in the foodservice industry, preferably in premium services, catering, and concessions environments for a sports and entertainment venue
  • Must be able to positively communicate with co-workers and management
  • Strong commitment to delivering a high level of customer and client service with demonstrated initiative and culinary skills
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations
  • Must be able to smile, maintain positive body language, and consistently provide positive guest service
  • Must be able to make evaluations, and decisions without immediate supervision
  • Must be able to accept and carry out responsibility for directions
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job specific safety training
  • Possession of NYC Food Protection Certificate preferred.
