Oak View Group’s Santander Arena in Reading, PA, seeks a PrepCook for a part-time role. You will prepare menu items in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring high-quality, timely meals while adhering to portion, waste, and sanitation standards.

The role pays $20.00 per hour, with benefits (401(k) savings and matching) for part-time positions. Open until December 18, 2026, at Santander Arena.

Qualifications

• Previous cook or prep cook experience.
• Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment, including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife.
• Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.
• ServSafe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests.
• Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements.
• Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of products.
• Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment.
• Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Responsible for observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking.
• Responsible for portioning, arranging, and garnishing food plates for delivery to guests.
• Responsible for consulting with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption.
• Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.

Position Summary

The PrepCook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Prep Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guests' satisfaction. Portion control, food waste, and sanitation are additional areas that the Prep Cook must be aware of while operating in the kitchen.

This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00 .

About The Venue

Santander Arena, located in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania, is a versatile venue that serves as the home arena for the Reading Royals, the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers. The Santander Arena has hosted an array of live events, including concerts, Disney on Ice, and other family-friendly events, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
