Responsibilities
Basic Function / Scope

The Prep Cook prepares food items for the final cooking stage, including obtaining items from storage, thawing meats, opening food containers, cleaning, preparing food, and delivering items to cooks. Specializations may include salad or bar prep.

  • Inspect quality of food items
  • Stock prepared food items for cooks
Primary Duties
  • Prepare food according to proper methods
  • Ensure sufficient quantities are available for cooking
