Position Summary:

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and stations, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, and supporting kitchen team members. The role requires punctuality, teamwork, adherence to health protocols, and following company policies.

Essential Functions and Skills:
  1. Arrives on time and prepares the station as scheduled.
  2. Prepares food according to specifications, recipes, and quality standards.
  3. Retrieves items from storage for preparation.
  4. Prepares equipment, ingredients, and supplies needed for the station, reporting issues promptly.
  5. Rotates and restocks pantry items and supplies to ensure availability and FIFO procedures.
  6. Checks and maintains par levels of ingredients and supplies before shifts.
  7. Assists in food preparation and side work as per prep lists.
  8. Completes station closing duties and maintains cleanliness.
  9. Maintains high standards of sanitation and food safety.
  10. Wears appropriate uniform and practices good personal hygiene.
  11. Follows safety guidelines and reports unsafe conditions.
  12. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant preferred.
  • Experience with fresh products preferred.
  • Ability to work in extreme cold and heat, loud environments, and handle fumes and odors.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to read recipes and instructions in English.
  • Work on nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Stand, bend, kneel, reach, and squat for extended periods.
  • Maintain good grooming and hygiene.
  • Paid parking available.
