Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for full and part‑time PREP COOK positions at the University of Houston – 4700 Calhoun Road, Student Center, Houston, TX 77204. Open availability; shifts may vary. Prior prep cook experience is required. Online applications accepted only.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
• Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.
• Complete daily production worksheets and waste log sheets. Taste completed meals to ensure quality.
• Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use.
• Store, label, and date all food items according to policy. Follow HACCP guidelines.
• Complete all required documentation, reports, and logs as required.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Takes orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
• Serve customers efficiently and friendly.
• Complete orders from steam tables and grill; serve customers at multiple stations.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Resolve customer concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
