Newk's Eatery is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join our kitchen and keep the prep stations stocked with fresh ingredients for daily service. You will support chefs by preparing vegetables, proteins, sauces, and dressings, following Newk's recipes and portion guidelines to ensure top-quality dishes for guests.

You'll experience training and opportunities for advancement, with a team-focused environment that emphasizes cleanliness and food safety.

Qualifications

• Training provided; experience not required
• Previous prep cook, kitchen prep, food preparation, or restaurant experience is a plus—but we'll train motivated individuals with the right attitude.

Responsibilities

• Wash, cut, slice, dice, and portion fresh vegetables and fruits.
• Prepare proteins, cheeses, sauces, and dressings according to Newk's recipes.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency.
• Label, rotate, and store food using FIFO inventory practices.
• Prepare soups and other scratch-made recipes as assigned.
• Stock prep stations and kitchen areas for daily service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary prep area.
• Operate knives and kitchen equipment safely.
• Assist with deliveries, inventory organization, and product rotation.
• Support the line during busy meal periods when needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
