Job summary

J. Alexander's Restaurant, a contemporary American restaurant, seeks a Prep Cook for our fast-paced, scratch-kitchen environment in Fort Lauderdale. You will assist with open-kitchen operations, follow recipes, and help maintain high standards for food presentation and sanitation.

This role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and readiness to work a variety of shifts in a support-focused kitchen. Previous kitchen experience is welcome, but not required, with training provided to new team members.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age to operate kitchen equipment.
• Previous kitchen / culinary / chef experience is preferred, but not required.
• Experience and knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to knives, slicer, mixer, stoves, and ovens required.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a professional, fast-paced kitchen environment with high standards for food presentation.
• Communicate effectively with teammates to coordinate line and prep tasks.
• Follow company recipes and specifications, maintain clean stations and workspaces.
• Perform opening and closing duties and ensure proper sanitation procedures.
