Job summary

Chili's in Columbia, SC is seeking a dependable kitchen prep team member to support our cooks during busy shifts. You will prepare ingredients, wash, peel, chop, slice produce, and set up workstations to ensure a smooth service flow.

You’ll follow recipes, maintain cleanliness, uphold food safety standards, manage inventory, and assist chefs with various tasks. Health Insurance is offered and there is no strict dress code for this role.

Responsibilities

• Preparing ingredients: Washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing fruits and vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing seafood
• Following recipes: Measuring and mixing ingredients, and setting up workstations and ingredients
• Maintaining cleanliness: Washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and organizing food storage areas
• Ensuring food safety: Complying with nutrition and sanitation guidelines, and storing food properly
• Assisting chefs: Following prep lists, and helping with other tasks
• Managing inventory: Taking inventory of ingredients, and ordering more as needed
• Maintaining equipment: Keeping kitchen equipment in good condition, and reporting any malfunctions
