Job summary

Xperience Restaurant Group (XRG) in Union City, CA is seeking a prep cook to support our fast-paced kitchen. You will prepare hot and cold foods, follow prep sheets, and work with chefs to ensure timely and accurate production.

This role requires focus on food safety, proper storage, and clear communication with team members. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent, eligibility to work in the United States, and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 18+ years of age.
• Possession of or the ability to possess all state required work cards.
• Minimum of one year related experience.
• Proper food storage knowledge.
• Proper lifting techniques.
• Guest relations and sanitation awareness.
• Full service kitchen operations experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in English with staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all hot and cold restaurant foods.
• Prepare prep sheet and include items to be prepared or ordered.
• Follow prep sheet and communicate with Chefs; meet prep times.
• Wrap, label, date, and store items to ensure freshness.
• Set up, operate, and clean kitchen equipment and store properly.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment maintenance and safe use.
• Work efficiently to minimize costs and waste.
• Demonstrate knowledge across kitchen areas.
• Read measurements, follow recipes, and process tickets.
• Apply knife skills for service and prep.
• Maintain menu knowledge and attention to detail.
• Assist Chefs in the execution of service.
• Communicate with management and staff to address issues.
• Move furniture as directed by management.
• Comply with safety and health procedures and liquor laws.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards.
• Ensure proper checkout procedures.
• Clean spills promptly and dispose of trash properly.
• Inform management of complaints or incidents.
• Complete nightly/weekly and opening/closing duties.
• Report equipment failures or safety hazards.
• Assist with additional tasks as assigned.
