Big Bad Breakfast in Louisville, KY is hiring a prep cook to join our back-of-house team. You will prepare ingredients, follow recipes, and assist line cooks to maintain our high standards in a fast-paced kitchen. Weekend availability required, with opportunities for growth and advancement within BBB.

A team‑oriented environment and employee meals are provided. Experience preferred but we’ll train the right person; you should be dependable, punctual, and able to lift up to 50 lbs while standing

Qualifications

• Previous prep or line cook experience preferred, but we’ll train the right person.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and recipes according to established specifications
• Wash, chop, measure, and store ingredients properly
• Follow daily prep lists and prioritize tasks to meet service demands
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, walk-ins, and storage spaces
• Label, date, and rotate all food products to maintain freshness and food safety
• Assist line cooks and other team members during busy service periods
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management
