Job summary

Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming in Calvert City, Kentucky is seeking a Prep Cook to support daily kitchen operations. You will prep food items before each shift, follow menu specifications and standard recipes to assist in serving guests.

Responsibilities include operating kitchen equipment, coordinating with staff, reading recipes, maintaining safety standards, and helping ensure guest satisfaction. A high school diploma and ServSafe certification are preferred; Kentucky gaming license

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen area is preferred.
• Food safe certification from a recognized authority (ServSafe certification, etc.) is preferred.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

Responsibilities

• Operate kitchen equipment, including slicer, steamer, deep fryer, ovens, broiler, grill, mixer, kettle, and griddles.
• Actively coordinates with staff to prep items needed in a timely and effective manner.
• Requires reading and math skills for recipes and measurements.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand Basic English to read recipes and communicate with other team members.
• Adheres to control procedures for food costs and quality.
• Actively encourages and abides by all health codes and hand-washing guidelines.
• Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency of product to the guest.
• Be able to create compound sauces and derivatives of the mother sauces.
• Meticulously clean all food preparation areas and kitchen equipment to ensure a healthy and clean environment for all Food and Beverage team members.
• Other duties as assigned.
