Base pay range

$15.50/hr - $20.75/hr

Job Purpose

The prep cook is responsible for preparing cooking ingredients, sauces, parboiling food, and preparing simple dishes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare all hot and cold restaurant foods
• Prepare prep sheets including all items to be prepared or ordered
• Follow prep sheets and communicate with chefs
• Ensure prep times are met
• Properly wrap, label, date, and store all food items
• Set up, operate, and clean kitchen machinery and equipment
• Maintain knowledge of equipment maintenance and handling
• Work efficiently with materials and resources, minimizing costs
• Read recipes, measure ingredients, and execute computer tickets
• Apply knife skills and maintain menu knowledge
• Assist chefs during service
• Communicate with management and staff regarding guest needs
• Follow safety, health, sanitation, and liquor laws
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards
• Complete opening, closing, and nightly duties
• Report equipment failures or hazards
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma preferred
• Proof of eligibility to work in the US
• Valid Driver's License
• 18+ years old
• State work cards
• At least 1 year related experience
• Advanced knife skills
• Knowledge of food storage, lifting techniques, sanitation
• Effective communication in English

Working Conditions

• Indoor/outdoor work, exposed to heat, cold, steam, wet floors
• Fast-paced environment with variable noise levels
• Shift work including days, nights, weekends, holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand long periods
• Use hands for handling objects
• Repeat movements, lift up to 50 lbs
