Job summary

Eataly is looking for a Prep Cook to join their team in New York. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of cold food items and ingredients that will be used in our restaurants.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cold food items and all ingredients for the kitchens.

• Follow recipes and comply with portion sizes and quality standards.

Job Description

A Prep Cook prepares a variety of cold food items and all prepared ingredients that will be distributed to the kitchens to be cooked for restaurants. Reports to the Cafe Manager and Cafe leads

• Washes, peels, slices andmixvegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and other ingredients for salads, cold plates, side dishes,entrees,pizzaanddesserts.
• Cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and countersrequiredfor production
• Performs other duties asrequiredor assigned
• Prepares pizzaallapala, panini and dessertaccording to specific recipes
• Follows recipes andcomplies withportionsizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures and Department of Health regulations

Qualifications

• 1+ year of kitchen experience
• Basic math skills
• Good knife skills and finger dexterity to use small tools and utensils adeptly
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Requirements

• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 poundsand exert well-paced mobility
• Ability to spend up to 8 hours standing or walking in a kitchen and restaurant environment
• Ability to work with commercial equipment including stand mixers, ovens, torches, etc.

Compensation: This position pays a base rate of $17 - $19 per hour.
