Prep Cook/Dishwasher - Hornblower - Newport Beach

City Experiences is seeking a Prep Cook for our operation in Newport Beach.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

As a prep cook, you will prepare food for our events, including cutting, chopping, peeling, etc., and plating food for buffet presentation. You will also assist with processing deliveries and maintain safe and sanitary work stations at all times. You will work with the team to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met throughout the galley. This is an excellent opportunity to learn basic cooking skills and progress into other positions.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assist in stocking products from deliveries, maintaining proper rotation and storage
  2. Follow food production guidelines, preparing food within the allotted time
  3. Maintain safe and sanitary food standards
  4. Label, date, and initial all prepared and stored food products
  5. Monitor all work areas consistently throughout the shift
  6. Clean and organize food and pan storage daily
  7. Report any tools or equipment in need of repair or replacement
  8. Additional duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of kitchen prep experience
  • Knowledge of health sanitation codes
  • Ability to obtain TWIC and MMC certification
