Job summary

Provincial Senior Living is seeking a Prep Cook/Cook to join our team at a Glendale, AZ community. The role is responsible for preparing meals from standardized recipes, coordinating with meal times, and maintaining food safety and quality across all service periods.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of related food prep experience, and a sanitation certificate. Culinary training and apprenticeship are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year job-related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
• Food Services Sanitation Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food items using standardized recipes in a timely manner.
• Determines food and supplies needed and coordinates meal production with serving hours.
• Monitors all food items to ensure minimum guidelines for temperature, taste, and quality.
• Ensures proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes.
• Maintains cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
• Follows safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Oversees food storage; checks labels and dates.
• Completes cleaning duties.
• Follows local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.
