High school diploma or GED required; CPR certification preferred; sobriety requirement applies to those with a substance use history. Salary ranges from $19.00 to $20.00 hourly with no travel.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED. Work experience may substitute for educational requirements.
• Must have two years of continuous sobriety prior to hire, if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self-help program.
• CPR Card.

Responsibilities

• Assist the chef with the orderly storage and cleanliness of all areas and items within the kitchen, dining room, and other food storage, meal service, and refuse disposal areas.
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
• Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
• Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
