Job Description

Domino’s Prep Cooks are dedicated to food safety and proper handling of the products used to prepare a customer’s meal. Prep Cooks must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt as the needs of the business shift. They ensure that everything line cooks need—organized, dated, and rotated—is ready when required.

To succeed as a Prep Cook, you should be a committed, communicative team player with excellent time management skills. Prioritizing tasks in a busy setting and adhering to all food safety regulations are essential.

Prep Cook Responsibilities:
  • Follow all food safety guidelines.
  • Receive truck deliveries, check all products for damage or missing items.
  • Date, rotate, and store all products received on the day of delivery.
  • Pull data daily for prepping needs over a 48-hour period.
  • Prepare all products according to Domino’s standards.
  • Proof dough for 24 hours, then date and re-cool.
  • Maintain proper temperature of products during prep.
  • Check temperatures of all refrigeration units.
  • Date all products according to Domino’s standards.
  • Prepare cooking PRPs, including sandwich mats and papered pans.
  • Maintain sanitation of the prep area and any surfaces exposed to food.
  • Restock dipping cups, soda machines, and boxes.
  • Report safety hazards and maintenance needs.
Prep Cook Requirements:
  • Minimal work experience; 1 year restaurant experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Texas Certified Food Handlers Certificate required.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Ability to stand or walk for 8-10 hour shifts and lift at least 30 pounds.
  • Show pride in work.
  • Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.
  • Detail-oriented.
Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is a plus but not required. Relevant training is provided on the job to learn employer-specific functions, including operating the computer system and product knowledge. A positive attitude is essential.

Work Environment

The environment involves preparing a large volume of products each shift, which can be taxing. Standing for long periods is expected, potentially leading to back strain and foot problems. Frequent hand sanitization is required as food is handled. The environment is warm, bustling, and noisy, with equipment such as conveyor belt ovens and warming carts, which may pose injury risks.
