Job Title: Prep Cook 12595

Location: DDC - Waddell, AZ (White Tanks at San Lucy)

Job Description:

Position Summary: Under direct supervision of the Desert Diamond Casino- Phoenix Room Chef & Venue Manager. Responsible for food prep, learning cooking/baking techniques, proper storage, cleaning, and supporting food & beverage production. This list is illustrative and not exhaustive.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Learns to prepare various foods according to menu and demand.
2. Performs tasks as directed by superiors.
3. Uses and learns proper knife skills, cooking techniques, and terminology.
4. Follows standardized recipes and procedures.
5. Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment following health regulations.
6. Ensures all storage areas and equipment are clean, labeled, and well-maintained.
7. Communicates effectively with team members and management.
8. Contributes to a positive, professional work environment.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months experience in a kitchen or as a Steward or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old, with no felony or theft convictions.
• Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and obtain gaming license.
• Ability to learn kitchen safety, equipment use, and culinary techniques.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain professionalism.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks.

Physical Demands:

Extended standing, frequent use of hands, walking, occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

Kitchen setting with exposure to heat, fumes, steam, smoke, and noise. Irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
