Salary: Starting at $22/hour + Stay-on bonus of $1,500 paid throughout your first 6 months!

Who You Are
- Ability to communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.
- A minimum of one year’s experience as a Cook with responsibilities in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution
- Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- Basic understanding of English
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Prep Cook
- Support the culinary team in preparing fresh, consistent, and appealing meals for residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Work under the direction of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to complete daily preparation assignments and maintain a clean, organized kitchen.
- Complete daily prep lists accurately and on time, ensuring ingredients and assigned menu components are ready before each meal service.
- Wash, peel, cut, and portion fruits and vegetables; prepare ingredients for soups, salads, sandwiches, entrées, side dishes, and desserts according to standardized recipes.
- Assist with basic cooking and batch preparation as assigned, following established recipes, production quantities, and the Chef’s instructions.
- Prepare and replenish ingredients for daily specials and the Always Available menu, communicating shortages or additional preparation needs promptly.
- Follow approved recipes, portion sizes, and instructions for special diets, food allergies, and texture-modified meals. Refer questions or substitutions to the Chef before preparation.
- Label, date, cover, and store all prepared foods correctly. Rotate inventory using first-in, first-out practices and help maintain organized refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
- Follow community food safety procedures for personal hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, food handling, and temperature control. Complete assigned temperature and cooling logs.
- Check ingredients for freshness and quality, and promptly report spoiled products, missing items, or food safety concerns to the Chef.
- Follow established portioning and preparation quantities to minimize waste and make efficient use of ingredients.
- Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, cutting boards, and equipment throughout the shift and complete assigned daily and scheduled cleaning tasks.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, checking product condition and reporting discrepancies as directed.
- Support meal plating, portioning, and assembly of meal trays or delivery carts as assigned, following the Chef’s directions for accuracy and presentation.
- Assist with dishwashing and other kitchen support duties when needed.
- Communicate respectfully with residents and team members, and promptly share resident requests or concerns with the appropriate supervisor.
