Job summary

Gervasi Vineyard in Canton, Ohio is seeking a part-time Prep Cook. Pay starts at $17.00/hour, with experience-based offers. Join our premier winery resort team and contribute to high-quality food preparation in a luxury setting.

Responsibilities include following recipes and prep lists, labeling ingredients, maintaining clean storage and work areas, and assisting with event plating. Flexible schedules and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of the fundamentals of basic kitchen skills.
• Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
• Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
• Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Follow prep lists as written by managers.
• Prepare all food items according to standardized recipes, BEOs and/or Chef instructions.
• Label and stock all ingredients in storage areas for organization.
• Keep refrigeration, storage and working areas clean to comply with Health Dept. regulations.
• Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition; report issues to management.
• Assist with plating for events to ensure plates are presentable.
• Prepare food items for production; read and use math to prepare items to recipes; stand for long periods and lift/move products.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings for recipes.
• Help distribute food to outlets from central kitchen; may drive golf cart or vehicle; sign driving agreement if required.

Responsibilities:

• Follow prep lists as written by managers.
• Prepare all food items according to standardized recipes, BEO’s and/or as specified by the Chef. Check to ensure consistency of product.
• Labeling and stocking all ingredients in storage areas so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Keep all refrigeration, storage and working areas in clean, working condition to comply with Health Department regulations.
• Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition. Report issues to management.
• Assist with plate of food for events, ensuring that finished plates are presentable.
• Prepare food items for production in the work station. Read and use math skills to appropriately prepare items according to recipes. Requires stamina for standing & strength for lifting & moving products.
• Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking recipes.
• Help distribute food to various outlet locations from central kitchen by assisting with or driving golf cart, mid-size car or large van. Load varies, weather conditions vary. If required to drive, you will be asked to sign a driving agreement upon hire and be provided with some remedial training.

Requirements:
