Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in Orlando, FL is seeking cooks to prepare high-quality food per menu specs and uphold safety HACCP standards. You will operate open flame grills, smokers, and bakery equipment while ensuring allergen-aware meals and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include ensuring final dish quality, temperature checks, and clean, sanitary work areas. Flexible shifts and dynamic team environment offered.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of cooking experience or culinary school.
  • Ability to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor Training (alcohol).
  • Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
  • Ability to prepare special dietary meals.
  • Communicate professionally with Ambassadors, Vendors and Guests.

  • Complete food prep by cutting and chopping of vegetables, fruits and meats.
  • Assemble wraps, sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, etc.
  • Keep all assigned areas clean and sanitary.
  • Incorporate knowledge of top eight allergens into the preparation of dietary meals.
  • Interact with Ambassadors and guests and deliver excellent service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What it takes to succeed
  • Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility.
  • At least one year of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary school.
  • Basic knife skills.
  • Ability to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor Training (alcohol).
  • Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
  • Ability to prepare special dietary meals.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests.
  • Valid state driver's license preferred.
  • In-depth food safety and allergen knowledge a plus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What else is important
  • Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed.
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat.
  • Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes.
  • Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
