Job summary

Caraluzzi's Markets in Newtown, CT is seeking a dedicated prep cook to support our prepared foods team. You will prepare fresh ingredients and assist with catering needs, ensuring counter space is stocked and presentable.

Teamwork, attention to knife skills, and a customer-first mindset are essential in this fast-paced environment. Prior cooking or food prep experience is preferred; Culinary Arts training is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary, cooking restaurant or food preparation experience.
• Knife skills including dicing and chopping.
• Positive, upbeat attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Culinary Arts degree preferred but not required.

• Prepare fresh ingredients to be cooked and ready to meet demands.

• Prepare fresh ingredients to be cooked, ensuring that they ready to be used to meet demands
• Deliver excellent customer service by waiting on customers at the service counter, answering questions, and providing meal suggestions.
• Package & replenish product as needed.
• Assist customer with their catering & entertaining needs

Looking For Individuals With

• Previous culinary, cooking restaurant or food preparation experience
• Knife us abilities including dicing & chopping
• Preferable degree in Culinary Arts (although not required)
• Positive, upbeat attitude with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
