A leading company in Downtown Brooklyn is seeking a Prep Cook/Host to support a team-oriented environment focused on customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include food preparation, kitchen maintenance, and dining service. Ideal candidates will have kitchen experience, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude.
Hopkins Center is hiring for a Prep Cook/Host position. Located in Downtown Brooklyn, we are an exceptional team-oriented facility where we thrive on making our residents and staff as comfortable and happy as possible. Schedule: Full Time 8am-4pm with Alternating Weekends
Rate: $18 - $25.15
Prep Cook/Host Job Responsibilities:
Perform routine kitchen tasks and assigned tasks.
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
Prepare simple dishes, such as salads.
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen.
Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
Greet residents in a professional, courteous manner
Assist with pouring/providing beverages and other service and bussing functions as necessary
Monitor dining room services and food availability on an ongoing basis to ensure prompt and courteous dining service

Prep Cook Qualifications / Skills:
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
Organizational skills
Patience and professionalism
Excellent Communication skills
Friendly and energetic personality
Attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as a prep cook
Training from a culinary school is an asset
