Job summary

Ocean Key Resort and Spa in Key West, FL is seeking a prep cook for Sunset Pier restaurant. Requires 1–2 years of related kitchen experience, ability to read English for recipes, and physical stamina to stand and lift up to 50 pounds during shifts.

You will work with a busy kitchen team in a resort setting, ensuring quality plating, food safety, and timely service in a stunning waterfront location.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read English for recipes and instructions.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and move about the kitchen.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork in a busy restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Read recipes and prepare menu items as directed.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist kitchen staff during service periods.
• Support portion control, plating, and order accuracy.

A day in the life...

This is a wonderful opportunity to join the Ocean Key working as a prep cook at the world-famous Sunset Pier restaurant. 1-2 years of related experience required. Must be able to read English for preparing items using recipes.

• Must be able to exert physical effort in lifting up to 50 pounds
• Push/Pull 50 + pounds
• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
• Remain in mobile and standing position for at least 8 hours throughout work shift
• Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and with other departments and interdepartmentally
• Must have positive attitude
